RADIOLOGY SERVICES
For years, physicians have relied on advancements in medical technology to better diagnose their patients. Gonzaba Medical Group has met those needs by housing a complete radiology center – all under one roof. Patients of Gonzaba Medical Group can walk in and obtain a myriad of radiology services, to include: MRI, CT, Bone Density Exams, Ultrasounds, Vascular Studies, Echocardiograms, and Digital Mammography without having to go outside the clinic to other sources.
Gonzaba Urgent Care Center is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology to provide superior quality Radiology care, the same technology that you find in a hospital. We have a Board Certified Radiologist on staff that supports your Urgent Care provider and is available to give urgent interpretations to provide invaluable information on your medical diagnosis and treatment.
As of March 2015, Gonzaba Medical Group can offer faster, more detailed images for our patients with the recent CT and MRI Radiology software upgrades. Upgrades include a 64 slice CT scanner that provides improved imaging capabilites as well as an enhanced positioning table that provides comfort for larger patients. The new CT scanner features also includes its dose-saving “GE ASiR” technology, which enables dose reductions without sacrificing image quality. The systems exceptional performance at low dose levels is a key benefit for patients. Now Gonzaba patients can have a more comfortable experience than ever before.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)*
MRI uses magnetic fields and radio waves to create an accurate view of a patient’s organs and other structures for a doctor to interpret. Accredited by the American College of Radiology.
CT (Computerized Tomography)*
CT, also known as a CAT scan, uses x-ray technology to create images from different planes around the body and translates them into cross sections of the patient’s body tissues and organs. Accredited by ACR (American College of Radiology).
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasound reflects sound waves off a patient’s organs and other body structures, and converts echoes into images for the doctor to interpret. Gonzaba Urgent Care Center in San Antonio is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology to provide superior quality Radiology care the same technology that you find in a hospital in an outpatient setting.
VASCULAR STUDIES
Using Ultrasound technology, reflected sound waves are measured to evaluate blood flow through the major arteries and veins of a patient’s arms, legs and neck. Accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission
ECHOCARDIOGRAMS
Echocardiography (echo or echocardiograms) uses high pitched sound waves and reflections to produce images of a patient’s heart.
BONE DENSITOMETRY
Bone densitometry uses x-rays to quickly and accurately measure the density of bone to detect osteopenia or osteoporosis.
DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY
A digital detector is used to produce detailed images of the breast. Images are acquired digitally and displayed much faster than standard film mammography. Accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
